Ann Arbor Civic Chorus

The Ann Arbor Civic Chorus (AACC) invites you to participate in our community choir. The Ann Arbor Civic Chorus is for adult singers with previous choral experience who want to rediscover the joy of making music with others. The chorus sings musical selections from the classical, pop, jazz, folk, Broadway, and modern styles and performs two concerts annually. No audition required.
All are welcome!

Welcome to the Ann Arbor Civic Chorus

The Ann Arbor Civic Chorus is a program offered through Ann Arbor Rec & Ed and is open to all singers without audition. Founded in 1983, the chorus presents both formal concerts and informal performances at retirement homes and community events. Currently, this co-ed adult chorus boasts 180 members who enjoy performing a wide variety of musical genres, including classical, contemporary, jazz, world folksongs, and musical theater. Singers range in age from 20s to 80s and don't need to be Ann Arbor residents to participate. Recent highlights have included commissioning a piece by Michigan composer Stacey V. Gibbs for our 40th anniversary, as well as collaborating with the Dexter Community Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony in 2024. We are looking forward to our first joint performance with the Ann Arbor Civic Band in summer 2025.

Pianist, Edward (Ted) Wyman

Ted Wyman is a fixture in southeast Michigan music circles.  He accompanies or serves as principal pianist for premier ensembles and his facility in a range of styles puts him in high demand as accompanist for recitals and theater productions.  Ted has been an invaluable staff accompanist for the Ann Arbor Civic Chorus since 2008; he also accompanies for the semi-professional chamber choir the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Ann Arbor and for numerous other local ensembles and productions.
